granted I still would've thought the fight was the most creatively bankrupt savage raid I've ever done but I maybe wouldn't have brought up the idea of just not doing it

if black mage still had its enochian timer and if triplecast was still a damage gain, it would've been much more stressful and thus much more engaging
cuz then I couldn't just slidecast everywhere

Not only that, I didn't even have to use xenoglossies for movement
I could dump 4 xenoglossies in every raid buff and it wasn't even particularly hard to do so
its like, maybe the easiest high end fight in the entire game for black mage

that's what's odd to me about the fight cuz everyone is like "its so fast paced there's so much movement" and the movement for every mechanic can be covered with swiftcast or just slidecasting

I do think there's kind of a disconnect because I was playing black mage, its a fight that meshes so well with what black mage does that it makes the fight boring
the fact that you can do the entire first phase without pressing triplecast once is kinda insane to me

I have felt this raid tier has been a lot more popular than pandaemonium
I didn't really see fanart of Hesperos. Or Hephaistos. Or Agdistis
barely even any art of proto-carbuncle or themis

I just tend to think its easy to get a little too much into being Combo Simulator and moving away from the crowd management aspect
but I do think RCRU doesn't really have that issue
I need to go back to it and refresh myself on it, now that I think about it

I'm not 100% sure on that just cuz there's plenty of people that do savage but don't do ultimate, and also most raiders fully believed that we were getting an ulti in 7.3 when last tier started anyways
