This is an almost shockingly wise essay. I'm glad I've finally read it.
There Is No Mary Problem in ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
George’s vision of his wife without him is essential to the film, but critics continue to miss its true—and profound—meaning.

Signaling their bold new commitment to AI, Purdue is changing its mascot from the Boilermakers to the Bullshitters.
It’s been fun while it lasted: “Purdue University will begin requiring that all of its undergraduate students demonstrate basic competency in artificial intelligence starting with freshmen who enter the university in 2026.”

Instead of trying to create some weird dystopian fantasy world that will never work, why can’t these tech billionaires pump their excess money into the arts, healthcare and scientific research, education, and other things that actually benefit and enrich our society?

Demolishing the East Wing of the White House before finalizing plans for what will be built above its ruins is a near-perfect metaphor for Trump's approach to economic policy. The only difference is the wrecking crew doesn’t claim the rubble is evidence of unprecedented growth.

I like how these guys get to have it both ways

they get to inflate the bubble via broad product misrepresentation and bogus math

then dole out sage warnings about a looming problem they created as if they played no role in it
Google boss says trillion-dollar AI investment boom has 'elements of irrationality'
In an exclusive BBC interview, Sundar Pichai hailed artificial intelligence as an "extraordinary moment" but said no company would be immune if bubble burst.

He says that with a smirk on his face, taking pleasure that new graduates have a gutted out job market waiting for them. These are the kinds of guys we have “leading” our economy!
Kevin Hassett: "I think there could be a little bit of an almost quiet time in the labor market, because firms are finding that AI is making their workers so productive that they don't necessarily have to hire the new kids out of college and so on."

All it means! The clown supposedly went to “business” school and doesn’t know how loans and interest rates work. Also explains why he bankrupts everything he touches and routinely committed mortgage fraud throughout his life.
INGRAHAM: Is a 50 year mortgage really a good idea?

TRUMP: It's not even a big deal. You go from 40 to 50 years. All it means is you pay less per month

Yup. It turns out massively destabilizing trade in and out of the country is bad for people importing to build factories in order to export stuff.

Also, they’ve pretty much killed CHIPS and Science, the largest domestic manufacturing bill in recent history.
Domestic manufacturing rose sharply under Biden and is falling under Trump

“He wants the society of the 1950s with the policies of the 1890s. But you literally don’t get the society of the 1950s without a comprehensive rejection of the policies of the 1890s, even by Republicans."
