Money intended for a $220M ad campaign ended up in the pockets of her political allies.

Millions of women live in states where an emergency D&C is illegal. Even if they are becoming septic and near death, some hospitals fear treating them for fear they could wind up in legal trouble.

I spent my life arguing that this should never ever happen to women in the United States, and the only way to do that is to ensure that abortion rights are protected for everyone. I would never have let this happen to her. This is degrading and dehumanizing.

I voted against it every time.

Nevaeh Crain was hoping to be a mom; it was her first pregnancy and she was happy to be bringing a new life into the world. The pro-life teenager began to have cramps and bleeding the day after her baby shower. Her mother took her to the hospital, but they were turned away twice before admitting.

Tierra Walker was also a mother, to a teenage son, and hoping to be a mom again after preeclampsia had caused stillbirths of twins after her last preganacy. Once again she had developed preeclampsia and she understood this was a concern. This was a high risk pregnancy.

Josselli Barnica was a mom too, and she was excited to be a mom again, but even though she was actively miscarrying, doctors refused to help because her fetus had a heartbeat. The fetus's head was positioned at her enlarged cervix, leaving her exposed to the possibility of infection. For 40 hours.

Amber Thurman was a mom too, that was why when she got pregnant unexpectedly and could not afford another baby, she went out of state to obtain medication for an abortion. She had complications, and needed a D&C to complete the process the medication had begun.

1-2% of all pregnancies are ectopic. Fetuses cannot survive in the fallopian tube. When the f. tube ruptures @6-12 wks, Mom's in big trouble. The chances of Mom surviving without medical care are slim to none. If medical care is delayed, the chances of death are much higher. Facts, not politics.

The defining characteristic of conservatives is that it has to happen to them for it to matter. No empathy. Narcissistic sociopaths.

To be fair, people don’t know these things happen because we discourage people from openly discussing miscarriage, and baby loss, and grief more generally. Especially in conservative circles.

There are people who genuinely believe that abortions are always elective procedures. They DON’T KNOW!

This case is believed to be the first since Roe v. Wade fell to feature the court testimony of women who say they were denied abortions in medical emergencies.
