So Bari Weiss’s first real editorial intervention at CBS is to repress coverage of American concentration camps.

It's way past time for an intervention. And by "intervention" I mean invocation of the 25th Amendment.

The draft dodging idiot posted a pic of this West Point plaque. It contains these words:

“Our American Code of Military Obedience requires that, should orders and the law ever conflict, our officers must obey the law.”

That is precisely what Senator Mark Kelly told officers to do. #NoSedition

U.S. Representative Ted Lieu has called Steve Witkoff an “actual traitor” following revelations of his backchannel dealings with Russian officials during Ukraine peace negotiations.

"Actual traitor. Steve Witkoff is supposed to work for the United States, not Russia," he said.

Not only did Pete Hegseth step in it, but all those Republicans who thought this was a winning issue and were quick to hop on board are going to find it hard to scurry back. They've elevated Kelly and demeaned themselves.

Karoline Leavitt officially announced the "Launch of a large-scale investigation to find the people behind 'No Kings.'"

I've saved her some time.

7,000,000 demonstrators, 0 broken windows, 0 fistfights, 0 upended fire hydrants, 0 smashed cars, 0 arrests. I'm just guessing, but maybe calling the No Kings participants a violent hate-America crowd wasn't actually accurate.

It appears that a prerequisite for joining ICE is to be a sadistic asshole. These people are cruel for the fun of it.

The past few months have taught us a crucial lesson: Not to comply. Resist passively when that's the only option, resist actively when possible, but don't make it easy for them. Resistance exposes villainy, inspires others, and it often (viz Chicago, viz Kimmel, et al) even prevails.

Why do headlines say "norms shattered" when what is meant is "laws broken" or "Constitution violated"?

My union, the Writers Guild of America, has just issued a statement condemning Jimmy Kimmel's silencing. I hope they follow up this admirably strong statement with action. The show's writers going on strike until and unless he's reinstated would be a good start.

He signed the birthday card "Donald," not "Donald J. Trump." I don't regard that datum as insignificant.

Violent resistance to Trump's plans to invade American cities would clearly be self-defeating. It's what he's trying to provoke. But something resembling a general strike within the occupied areas might actually be effective. Just shut down.

The issue isn’t that Maxwell lied throughout her entire proffer. She has been lying, deceiving and manipulating people her entire life. I expect it from her.

The issue is that the US Department of Justice gave her very tangible benefits already for those lies with more to come.

There must be someone inside the Justice Department who's willing to leak the Epstein files in full. We need a Mark Felt, a Ron Ridenhour, a John Dean, a Reality Winner. No public declarations or self-exposure are necessary, just the courage to copy documents and hand them to a trusted journalist.

Why does the White House press corps tolerate Trump and Leavitt's rudeness? Talk back. Complain. Boo. Turn your backs on them. Come to each other's defense. Does no one in the room have the guts or the pride to register disapproval?

Jared Polis, Gretchen Witmer, Kathy Hochul, JB Pritzker: Please don't wait to see how Gavin Newsom's strategem fares before daring to follow suit. How it fares may well depend on whether you're willing to follow suit before you learn how it has fared.

We can only hope, if the fix does go in, the MSM doesn't swallow it. They've been unforgivably uncritical of Trump over this past decade, but if they choose to ignore the reek from some sort of lie-for-a-pardon arrangement in this case, we're well and truly screwed.
