It's amazing how many people are out there bragging publicly about how they now use ChatGPT to perform pretty much all of their tasks at their well-paid corporate job, and have yet to connect the dots on "if you're making your utility value identical to ChatGPT, why would they keep paying you?"
I am starting to believe that the AI craze actually has, for once, created a genuinely useful way to test someone's intelligence:
are they unquestionably on board with using corporate AI tools for everything, or are they going "whoa, hey, wait a second"?

pretty telling comment here. Britain and America absolutely did feed and clothe Nazi and Japanese POWs during WWII. and they provided food and supplies to occupied territories as the war was won. the Hunger Plan by contrast was a Nazi thing

Kevin Hassett is just not-stupid enough to be the dumbest person that has ever lived. He has mastered the construction of sentences long enough to be filled exclusively with contradictory turds piled on top of each other. I'm equal parts impressed and horrified.

Feels like ranked choice was absolutely decisive in this race—not because of the vote count, but because of how it changed the incentives from zero-sum to cooperapetitive. It allowed a fractured left field to align organically through co-endorsements instead of falling into a circular firing squad.

The US attacks on Iran, quite apart from anything else, are a disaster for nuclear non-proliferation efforts.
Even if you reach a negotiated settlement with the Americans, you can't trust them not to rip it up immediately and start bombing you within a decade.
