One thing people NEED to come to terms with is that porn bans aren't exactly out of nowhere. Social media itself has shifted more in the direction of de-incentivizing porn in the past few years.

There are still people at conventions telling me, "They won't ban porn!" but these ID verification laws already have. Because there is no federal, safe and secure way to make those verifications happen; we will simply see site shut down or ban porn all together. You have to be realistic.
Finding out that so many people have purchased my books but never backed them up anywhere safe?! People really thought porn wasn't in trouble, huh? They really thought that Itchio could go on forever with anti-porn bills breathing down our necks... 😭

App reviews of 1 star over mass censorship issues feels like a very proportional response. The dream of these people is to make a “sellable” product out of Bluesky, and if you want to reduce that potential value, mass app reviews with filled out critical comments is the way to go.

Thinking about the newest proposed Bluesky regulations. There's a lot of expansion scenarios that don't involve explicit consent. Accidents, experiments, cursed objects, backfired spells, to say nothing about clearer cut cases like force feeding.

Bsky did change the tos after the feedback period, we just need to convince them to change it again. It's not like they're actively ignoring us.
I personally want bsky to improve and grow as a platform, I know it wont be perfect, it just needs to be better than twitter. The bar is that low.
