A massive influence on Smith’s Doctor, notably.

Jesus fuck Matt Smith with a harmonica would have been an absolute horror

I kinda just have this guy in my head all the time right now, except he's on about harmonicas.

Icke is tricky, and you have to specify when you’re talking about. I suspect he does believe in literal lizards, and that when he started he did not particularly fixate on the Jews. But conspiracy theory mash-ups trend inexorably towards antisemitism and he did nothing to arrest the slide.

Tori keeps a very closed shop of collaborators that hasn’t changed in a quarter century, and you can very much see the problem with that here
eruditorumpress.com
I wouldn’t be confident she got it from Icke directly tbh
eruditorumpress.com
To be fair, it’s reasonably likely that Tori Amos means literal lizard demons and not the Jews.

(No shade. Wikipedia was built by feral autists, as were most online resources of any value.)

That moment where you realize that you are absolutely about to find out how ferally autistic the editors are on the Freemasonry Wikipedia pages.

Yes, but the question is if she’s doing it deliberately or just in a deranged RFK way.

(Honestly I maintain that “may you get what you deserve” is categorically not a curse.)

I already wrote Neoreaction a Basilisk tho

Honestly my view is kind of that if someone curses you to experience karma and it goes badly for you, that’s not really on them.

Yeah, but it wasn’t you. 👀

Thinking of the heathens clutching their pearls over how someone hailing Fenrir would give them bad luck as their event collapsed around them.

Then again, I suppose someone did curse them. 😏

The single worst thing about the concept of “being psychically attacked” is that it leads to people looking karma dead in the eye and going “some nebulous other person is cursing me.”

Generally speaking using words slightly sloppily and over-broadly is not a bad thing. Words do not need to be kept in a verbal china cabinet and only taken out for special occasions.

Yes, you sometimes need precision, but mostly you don’t actully.

Baffled by the idea that it's not fascism until it's won. Seems a deeply unhelpful way to approach talking about the totalitarian consolidation of power. "It's not fascism until it's too late to stop it" is markedly less useful than, say, Eco's approach of defining fascism as an aesthetic.
radiofreetom.bsky.social
If we were living under fascism, none of you would be here daring to post things. You'd be erasing your social media accounts and keeping your head down; you'd know that peacocking your faux-bravery on a network would expose you to being disappeared.
You have no idea what "fascism" really means.
mouthfulofcavities.bsky.social
the regime is zip tying toddlers and ripping them away from their mothers unclothed... calling it fascism upsets this neo-con.

Are the Toymaker or the Rani really hits though? Or are they just old?

More practically -- if by the time you're thirty you're utterly miserable in your current work and so on, and if you don't have kids and such relying on you, that's the point you should give up on trying to be sensible and live in the day-job world and burn it down and do the mad thing instead.

Quite. I still think the the classic Pound injunction "make it new" is important, but that's not accomplished by agonizing over the past.

Yeah, Davies is slightly more complex than a straight neoclassical approach. But there's still, to my mind, a profound anxiety about expectations and popularity of which the Rani is a plain symptom.
