Icke is tricky, and you have to specify when you’re talking about. I suspect he does believe in literal lizards, and that when he started he did not particularly fixate on the Jews. But conspiracy theory mash-ups trend inexorably towards antisemitism and he did nothing to arrest the slide.

Generally speaking using words slightly sloppily and over-broadly is not a bad thing. Words do not need to be kept in a verbal china cabinet and only taken out for special occasions.

Yes, you sometimes need precision, but mostly you don’t actully.

Baffled by the idea that it's not fascism until it's won. Seems a deeply unhelpful way to approach talking about the totalitarian consolidation of power. "It's not fascism until it's too late to stop it" is markedly less useful than, say, Eco's approach of defining fascism as an aesthetic.

More practically -- if by the time you're thirty you're utterly miserable in your current work and so on, and if you don't have kids and such relying on you, that's the point you should give up on trying to be sensible and live in the day-job world and burn it down and do the mad thing instead.
