Usually what you see is everything I’ve thought about. There’s only so much room in short fic. I just make up an autistic trans woman and then I give her a problem.
Fiction writers: how well do you tend to know your characters? Are they mostly a feeling and the information you know about them is just enough to support the writing? Or do you know much more about them than will ever be revealed to readers?
