The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.

On a fight for your life, who do you want at your side?

Someone that's gonna fight like hell & all the way through or someone that covers & surrenders at the first threatening bleating?

MAGA is coming for us all, they won't be satisfied, they won't calm down. They are coming for everyone not them
Huge banks, corporations, and Universities bent the knee. Democratic politicians mewled in fear.

But not us. Never. We said death before detransition and fought on.

Keep your eyes on your trans neighbors, America. We can remind you what courage means. We'll show you how to resist.

every day we see how taking a stand and being unapologetic in your values is the surest way to energize your supporters. if democrats can learn that lesson, they’ll get a lot further!
Do Dems need to throw gays, lesbians, and trans people overboard to win elections?

No. What Dems need is to look towards our community, particularly the trans community, for the sort of courage and moral leadership and American values that can get them winning again.

The last day on which a majority of the Supreme Court’s justices had been appointed by Democratic presidents was May 14, 1969.

One of the things we do in the legal academy is support our claims with facts.

Gonna keep saying this: In the 1840s, Southerners insisted that they could kidnap any person they alleged was a slave without any state or federal process. This turned even minimal process into resistance and raised the salience of the issue, which radicalized a bunch of people against slavery.
Friendly reminder:

Due process is how we can be sure the people Miller and his henchmen are removing are legally subject to removal in the first place.

The US is undergoing the worst self-inflicted destruction of health, education, and knowledge creation infrastructure since the great leap forward. We will all be substantially less educated, poorer, and sicker while millions will die from completely preventable causes. It's civilizational suicide.

The difference between cis HRT and trans HRT reminds of the difference between getting an elective vasectomy vs. an elective hysterectomy. The former is met with little resistance, offered on informed consent; the latter is a last resort, met with a thousand are-you-sures or refused outright
It's amazing how quick a doc will give you the option of gender-affirming care if you're cis.

Diversity initiatives were meant to overcome the old patterns of nepotism, so I guess it makes sense that the enemies of diversity are big fans of nepotism.

I'm one of many trans people who found relief from depression through HRT.

I haven't needed psych meds since transitioning, and have only sought therapy a couple times, to handle major life shifts.

Pre-transition? In and out of inpatient for suicidality and eating disorder. It's that real.
ABC [Mar 17] -- New study in JAMA of 3,592 trans adults over 4 years found that those on gender-affirming hormones had significantly lower rates depression. CDC has found that trans people in general are 2-3 times more likely to have depression.

Gender dysphoria often doesn't feel like it's about gender. It can feel like your always watching a movie of somebody else's life or an emotional pain that never goes away. For me it was a filter of emptiness and disconnection that was laid over everything. It felt like not being a person.

it does make sense that the Cass Report is embraced by transphobes even tho it's obviously shoddy science. the point isn't that they have a case, it's that they can pretend (if to themselves) they are motivated by anything except the desire to eradicate trans people, children yes but also adults.
