If Jokic’s MVP elevator pitch is “3-time MVP having his best offensive season ever,” Shai’s should be “Leader of a 60+ win team putting together an all-time guard season WHILE being a very good defender.”
If SGA doesn’t win MVP, I think it will be partly bc of the difficulties in capturing his defensive value, which is prob his biggest differentiator over Jokic. I didn’t think about it until today’s pod, but who was the last guard MVP candidate where defense was part of their MVP case? CP3 in 11-12?

LOL, the only other games in Thunder history where they were outrebounded by 27+ was the 73-point loss to MEM and and a 47-point loss to MIL in 2020.
Had to step away for a moment so I could wrap my brain around OKC winning a game by 18 points while also losing the rebounding battle by TWENTY SEVEN
