See, this here is what we call gente corriente sin valores. What kind of upbringing did these thugs have? What kind of person steals someone else’s food? These are gang bangers. These are the types who will literally sell their mothers. They’re the lowest of low known as ratas de alcantarilla.

ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

This consequential line of reasoning, imo, is at odds with scientific integrity. Scientists should not be making arguments they know to be wrong to achieve some remote end goal. Such practices inject bad faith in the scientific discourse, it's patronizing to the public, it's lazy, and it corrupts.

This feels analogous to planting evidence to get the bad guy. Ultimately even when it's righteous, such an unprincipled attitude to science erodes its integrity. Today you may use this approach to debunk ESP; tomorrow it will be used against vaccines bec we've compromised our standards of evidence.

I understand this argument but I cannot condone it. Relaxing scientific standards because the presumed consequences will justify the means sits wrong with me.

Given the Ingenia Theorem, how to interpret what's happening in practice? It implies, if you test AIs rigorously for human-likeness, it quickly becomes evident they behave qualitatively differently from humans. Unsurprisingly, we see exactly this play out. [end of ACT 1]. 14/n
