A WILD ONE: A man broke his leg during an arrest by ICE at a car wash south of L.A.

ICE has held him under 24/7 guard at a hospital, registering him under a pseudonym, for *37 days* without telling him why.

A judge has ordered his immediate release.

BREAKING: We're suing ICE for refusing to comply with our FOIA request for information about the agency's plans for expanding immigration detention in the D.C. region.

We have a right to know how our taxpayer dollars are being used to fund ICE's abusive detention machine.

NEW: Air Force jets are doing ICE flights to Africa with transponders turned off, making them nearly un-trackable.

This includes the third-country removal to Ghana and another secret flight. We figured out where it landed.

Detention conditions litigation does not directly curb ICE enforcement, but it can pose important restrictions on ICE's capacity to arrest immigrants.

BREAKING: A court ruled that ICE can no longer detain immigrants in abusive conditions at 26 Federal Plaza while our case continues.

This ruling requires ICE to provide people detained at the facility access to hygiene products, sleeping mats, and free, confidential calls to their lawyers.

To expand immigrant detention the Trump administration plans to reopen at least three facilities that were shut down over concerns about violence, medical abuse, and systemic understaffing.

A federal judge characterized one facility as "an absolute hell hole."
Riots and abuse troubled these former prisons. ICE plans to reopen them.
The same operators that closed facilities plan to reopen them to hold immigrants. Advocates say that puts detainees at risk of violence and mistreatment.

The ACLU's @eunicehcho.bsky.social said said private companies & local economies have financial incentives to keep filling cells they already spent money creating. We see that in how empty prisons are being reused by ICE: “How can we imagine ways to actually shutter these facilities for good?”

ICE received ten times more in Congressional funding under Trump than it did last year.

The agency plans to use the money to expand the size of immigrant detention to eclipse the current federal prison system, says @aclu.org lawyer @eunicehcho.bsky.social.

🚨 ALERT🚨 DC Police (MPD) has announced that they will start collaborating with ICE at traffic checkpoints. What does this mean 👉🏽
ALERT
DC Police (MPD) has announced that they will start collaborating with ICE at traffic checkpoints
Aug 14 onwards

What does this mean?
- MPD has started to set up traffic checkpoints with federal agencies (like ICE) to stop people
- During the traffic stop they can ask about a person’s immigration status
- MPD can also share immigration status information of a person stopped at a checkpoint with ICE so that ICE can come and detain them
- Warning: ICE may be present at MPD precincts in an attempt to take custody of a person after release

Important to understand:
- The Trump administration does not care about the law. Even if you do everything right, they can detain you.
- Still, it is important to know your rights, b/c of potential legal recourse after MPD or federal agents violate them
