I think this is the correct answer. Moving to an independent PDS gives you control over your data. In the absence of any independent relay/appview infrastructure, BlueSky retains control of how that data is displayed, so the takedown makes him invisible no matter where his data lives.

I believe it's the case that blacksky.community is still connected to Bluesky's Appview (pds data gets aggregated onto an appview server and that's what the client actually connects to). Blacksky is getting their own Appview up asap.

Let me get this straight: Link, a Black user, got banned for calling out the Bluesky CEO for following a racist. That’s not a good look, especially given Bluesky’s historical treatment of Black users here on bluesky.
