Jane Goodall was my first childhood hero, as I loved animals as a kid and was inspired by her story. I still remember the National Geographic specials about her. RIP.

This is appalling. Civilized countries look at us and are rightly horrified that this idiocy and cruelty is sanctioned by--encouraged by--our government.

(I originally wrote "Other civilized countries look at us..." But do we any longer count in their ranks?)

Meant to mention this last week, but if you have a young person in your life who’s into history or graphic novels or just good books, buy them George Takei’s “They Called Us Enemy.” My oldest couldn’t put it down.

I know what we are all fighting against. But what are we fighting *for*? Might I suggest a radical idea that Dems focus on solving people's everyday problems? And might I suggest Dem leaders start talking like they understand how much people are hurting and act accordingly? Radical I know.

The regime keeps working to hurt Americans. Every time there’s a new policy announcement, it not something to help us, it’s something to hurt us. They’re really working at it. Wake up, friends!

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

I've been thinking a lot about that bumper sticker which says "everything looks like a conspiracy theory when you don't understand how anything works" and folks it's pretty obvious to me that the people in power right now have absolutely no desire to understand how anything works.
