He’s also a hardline “deflation is never, ever, EVER okay” guy, so his position is that price gouging, monopoly power, collusion, etc. are regrettable but cannot be remediated at all.

When prices were going up under Biden there was a constant deluge of news stories about it because the media did not like Biden and wanted him to lose. Under Trump there is not a constant deluge of news stories about coffee prices because they like Trump and want him to win

everything is on fire these days, sure, but how is it that 50% of all news stories are not about how I just spent $20 on a bag of store brand coffee at fucking costco

There’s a spot where a lady in a niqab runs across the screen and if you get twitchy and gun her down the game -doesn’t- go REMEMBER, DON’T KILL CIVILIANS like CoD does and it has stuck with me for the last decade+.

I am in a weird position on this because I thought it was fine when Spec Ops: The Line did it and did not think it was fine when TLoU2 did it and I couldn’t begin to tell you how my mind is differentiating the two.

FO2 mentions big nuke-fueled mega-twisters thrashing across the Great Plains. That would have been a cool place to explore.

I am pretty sure that if someone is perceived as Black, or a woman, or trans, etc. that Heated Gaming Moments will make the effort to match the slur with the perception.

Life would have been better never knowing what I'd lost because of these racists. Because this might kill me.

SCOOP: Last year, Ubisoft cancelled an Assassin's Creed game set during Reconstruction. Was to feature a Black Assassin who, among other things, fought the rise of the Klan

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

Classics hivemind! I have in my head that there's a passage somewhere where a ruler (a Roman emperor?) comes across a woman tilling her own fields and orders some arrangement to be made for her?

I don't know if I am imagining it, but I can't find it again. Wonder if anyone recognizes it?

AC4 Freedom Cry is explicitly about murdering slavers and AC3 Liberation is about the Black Creole experience during the Revolution, so this is very much backsliding on the part of even this specific branch of Ubi.

My favorite AC is the tiny AC4 spin-off where you play the Black dude and just go around murdering slavers and fomenting a slave rebellion.

“don’t say anything like ‘that is not something we created.’”

Good news: the sign is “not policy.”

Bad news: they fired their entire warehouse staff, which is probably worse?

Hi everyone, Team Emi Jay here We didn't have a Reddit presence before, but we wanted to hop on and address this directly. The "policy" shown in the picture making the rounds is not real. It's not our policy, it's not legal in California, and it doesn't reflect what we stand for. What is true: today was a hard day for our team. We made the decision to move fulfillment to a third-party logistics partner so the business can keep growing. That unfortunately meant some of our warehouse team members were impacted, and we know how difficult this transition is for them. We want to be clear: the "policy" being circulated is not something we created or endorse in any way. Thanks for giving us a chance to share the facts.

Billionaires should not exist.

All of this destruction is downstream of allowing too much capital to accrete in too few hands.
