The more positive version of this post would be something like 'the most compelling time to make changes to your game is when you're playing through it' but 1) that's not it 2) bugfixes and slight map edits feel like they land in a slightly different place than balance or gamefeel changes

Probably some mechanics that boost drop rates in various ways (in general, for specific things, etc.) would be involved

Honestly, I assume that in a game where you defeat stuff at a non-musou rate, anything below a .1% chance may as well be vanity gear

The specific way the bug operated means that non-hp stats are *close* to where they're meant to be, and characters join with their correct stats
It's just that hp totals were heavily nerfed, which I guess acts as a handicap while testing fights but also means a few strong attacks are way less so now
