But be warned it is dystopian

It’s about power, capital, and the slow removal of democratic constraint.

Labor’s 94-seat victory looked like a mandate for bold reform. But political scientists warn it was a broad, shallow landslide — built on preferences and a historically low primary vote. satpa.pe/Vw1qtoQ
Full list: what Albanese has legislated this term
A survey of Labor’s legislative achievements in 2025 testifies to Anthony Albanese’s methodical approach but not to his extraordinary mandate.

Degrowth in action…
The amount of waste generated across New Zealand dropped sharply last year, alongside a lift in the national recycling rate, new data shows. But the waste industry says the improvement is mostly driven by a construction sector slump, not a shift in behaviour by households or businesses.

Objective and insightful.

Sounds like the self proclaimed libertarian David Seymour does not believe in freedom speech.

That's the funny thing about cause and effect.
Globally, the rise of electric cars is already having a material impact on the demand for oil, according to Bloomberg

", EVs are already displacing about 2 million barrels per day of oil demand across the world… that's about roughly to the equivalent of Germany's daily oil consumption," he said.

Seymour only wants to listen to advice from "his experts".
My cartoon in today's www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3607...

The experts just keep coming with their pesky reality checks. In a democracy those in power are supposed to listen... hmm doesn't look like much listening is occurring under their eyeful watch.

All of which is to say that if the Regulatory Standards Bill were actually about empowering people and protecting their rights vis-a-vis government rather than boosting the power of businesses big enough to lobby the Regulatory Standards Board, it should be addressing gaps in openness requirements.

In theory, that's great. In practice, those investigating still have a boss proven to be corrupt in this matter. While Brereton is still there, Robodebt victims will not see justice. I'll never forgive Dreyfus or Labor for purposely creating a toothless tiger

Wonderful news

I still have no faith in the #NACC

Surely a ruling like this would question the very fabric of the management & governance of the #NACC & all management should be stood down immediately pending a senate enquiry into its performance & potential corruption

This #NACC won’t find shit

Given the NACC promise that none of those involved in the original decision will be involved in this investigation, by my count that leaves a single deputy commissioner (Kylie Kilgour) as the only person already serving who can do it.
