The thing about the Thomas King news is that even based on his existing bio it seemed pretty obvious his claims to being Indigenous were pretty tenuous, especially once you learn more about community and citizenship beyond DNA

This is eerily reflective of colonialism. Only in the spheres of writing and academia. These spaces need to have people who have verified their histories and whose histories have been verified. It’s the people and places that can confirm and tell the stories.

1) genuine life changing moment of my early 20s was realizing I actually didn't have to do this at all. tell the youths

2) I feel like there's a class discussion to be had around the stakes of this kind of decision though
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

I believe strongly people should be judged on the content of their character, their words and deeds not the color of their skin, their gender, sexuality, religion, age, nationality, disability, height, weight, etc

Got my computer fixed! I still hate Windows 11 but my work expedited the fix and I have a working laptop that actually connects to my files AND prints! Yay! When he came to deliver it, I jumped up & down & my sts began clapping. It was pretty great. Gotta take the wins where I can.

How can our Prime Minister say this with a straight face? He wants to meet climate targets, include Indigenous representation AND to build a PIPELINE (through BC)? Ridiculous. At least just say what it is: industry & economy over everything else (including BC’s voice).

I really, really, really 🥰 Thunderbolts. I know how cliched & unrealistic superhero movies are (esp. in our day & age - aka. we could all use real 🌎 examples more than fake), but I did ❤️ the scene where 🎶 rises up, Bucky comes in on 🏍️, w hair moving in wind & he kicks BUTT. A great moment. #marvel

On CNN, there was a stat that said that 57% of Americans have large bit of their wealth tied to stocks. Crazy. You can’t just be pumping money in and then pump more money in to prevent collapse, too. Because that damn will burst. When it does, it’s going to be real bad for a lot of people.
You have to keep giving money to avoid collapse and if there’s collapse you have to give more money. It’s called the free market.

I don’t want 2 read anything ✍️ by 🖐️ by my sts ever again. It is really, really hard sometimes. And, yet, I HAVE to do this, because this ✍️’s more authentically theirs, more immediate assessment & I can gage the subtleties of their language/syntax. It’s really, really hard when it’s hardly legible.
