Stood at Cwrt Dafydd farm, south of Margam, where they were found reused to form a footbridge across a stream. They are known as 'cart-wheel' crosses, and so named from the radial form of the cross head, like the wheels of a cart. 10thC.

Two more photos of the 10th Century Maen Achwyfan (Achwyfan's Stone), as per my pervious post. No one seems to know who Achwyfan was. I've only just learnt its design suggests #Viking influence. If so they must have struck inland into #Flintshire and perhaps settled there.

The 17th century 'Brahan Seer' known in Scots Gaelic as Coinneach Odhar, could foresee future events by looking through an Adder Stone. Although some suggest he was the invention of folklorist Alexander Mackenzie.

Big news:

1. Leaked Welsh Labour report shows what went wrong in Caerphilly.

2. Sec of State for Wales seemingly doesn't attend Welsh Gov summit because she wasn't given speaking roll.

3. I questioned UK Gov minister who told Wales to "be grateful" for terrible rail deal.

Community ownership and the circular economy can change that.
