As of right now, Bluesky is only a little more than 100K users away from 25 MILLION!! The growth of this platform since Election Day has been absolutely INCREDIBLE!! 💙

The reason the coup attempt in South Korea failed as quickly as it did is because South Koreans immediately rushed to the streets to say “we won’t let you do that” and force the military to decide whether they’d shoot their fellow citizens or not.

Important for us remember over the next 4 years.

Joni Ernst wants the Defense Secretary job for herself, of course—but the fact that she's stepping out so publicly against Hegseth tells me he doesn't have the votes. There's a very real chance Trump could lose two of his original cabinet picks... and more to come (Tulsi, RFK.)

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

Absolutely zero shade at all, but why were so many reporters and politicians drunk on a Monday evening?
I am, incidentally, pretty drunk rn (the job is 24/7!!!). This is the most Korean thing I've ever done.

In that week when Musk bought Twitter & started bungling it, the possibility occurred to me that he'd bought it to end its usefulness as a pro-democracy tool. I'm so grateful for BlueSky & the fact that we're all here now & that it's increasing possible to get our news here too!

"Trump won the crucial blue wall states... by 231,000 votes? So if just 116,000 voters across those three swing states – or 0.7% of the total – had switched from Trump to Harris, it is the vice-president who would have won the electoral college … and the presidency" - me for the Guardian:
Donald Trump didn’t win by a historic landslide. It’s time to nip that lie in the bud | Mehdi Hasan
In 2024, we have a new post-election lie – Trump didn’t just win, Republicans say, but he won big. He won a landslide. That’s false

This was the most “hold my beer while I slam my dick in the car door” thing I’ve ever seen from a career politician.

Just an incredible miscalculation.
Soon after President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea declared emergency martial law on Tuesday, lawmakers voted to defy him, prompting the president to say he was lifting his order, just hours after he had issued it.

I think President Biden should pardon a shit ton more people -- a bunch of marijuana convictions, but mostly preemptive pardons to take trump's retribution targets off the backs of his press and political "enemies list."

No fucks left, Joe.
Just do it.

The real-time reporting of South Korea today was far easier to follow along on Bluesky than X. It’s these moments that define these platforms. Bluesky really does have the juice.

It’s honestly pretty impressive. It took one of my posts 45 mins to appear on my timeline yesterday.

Meanwhile, BlueSky has grown by millions of users and is running just fine.
Spent a little time on Twitter this afternoon.

It's become even less usable, if you can imagine.
