Reread Jen Devon's Bend Toward the Sun for probably the third or fourth time, and I'm utterly convinced it's one of the best romances of the last few years.

Amy is awesome, and y'all already heard my rant on deductibles resetting so I'll just say: if you've got some quarters rattling in the couch cushions, she needs her insulin pump so she can keep focusing on playing Dragon Age. 💓
It's a new year, and a new deductible and out of pocket. This year we just can't afford my insulin pump anymore.

I am so sorry to have to ask for help. I am looking for work, and we are also thinking outside the box. Shares are appreciated, too!

This series is AMAZING and should be spread far and wide. Smart and funny and sometimes poignant and so twisty, plot-wise. I’m always eagerly awaiting the next Lady Sherlock installment.
A Study in Scarlet Women (book 1 of the Sherry Thomas mystery series) is 2.99 (affiliate)

[COVID zine 7/14]

Updated boosters try to match currently circulating COVID variants, so they're very worth getting! They don't make you invincible, though. In the driving metaphor, getting a booster is like getting your breaks checked, or something??

In my house, we used to have a hard time remembering the name Jersey Mike’s, so we started calling it New Jersey Steve’s or (my favorite) Mike’s Hard Sandwiches. Best name in family lore is Capt. Jack ‘n’ Flippers (Long John Silvers). Anyone else have fun restaurant/product/etc. nicknames?

A lot of the time, it's "Scalzi and Seanan" when talking about me and John, or any male/female author combo you want to name. Men get surnames and respect. Women get unearned familiarity.
