Man, the greatest writing high is rereading the fic that's old enough you've forgotten most of the details but not so old that the quality is below your current* skills. It's a little gift targeted at your niche AND weird likes.

Some writing projects are just Cursed. No other word for it. I've got one where as soon as I start working on it, something happens. And it's ridiculous stuff; family deaths or mystery illnesses or tech issues that shouldn't be possible, just an endless stream with awful timing. Capital C Cursed.
