"In my view, pulling it now — after every rigorous internal check has been met is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.”
Here’s a gift link to this stunner Washpost story, quoting the 60 Minutes correspondent on the CECOT story, who accuses Bari Weiss of spiking the piece all because the Trump Administration wouldn’t comment.

“Government silence is a statement, not a VETO.”

‘60 Minutes’ correspondent says CBS’s Bari Weiss abruptly pulled segment on Trump deportations
CBS News pulled a ‘60 Minutes’ segment about a prison in El Salvador one day before it was set to air because the Trump administration declined to participate.

If haven’t had a chance to check out one of the Bytown Sea Shanty Collective’s singalong nights at Beyond the Pale — you need to go. Who knew that belting out songs about being lost at sea and sick with the drink would serve as primal therapy?!?

HUGE NEWS from the new Epstein files:

Records show that Maria Farmer, who worked for Epstein, filed a "child pornography" report to the FBI in 1996.

The FBI has never before acknowledged that complaint. The case went nowhere, and mass abuse followed.

I did not see that one coming. Wow.

This.

It's almost like the outcome was never in doubt.
It's so weird that the "surprise" "vote" happened yesterday but they had the external lettering, tarps, and crew all ready to go.
Breaking News: Workers began adding President Trump’s name to the Kennedy Center, despite no action by Congress to legally rename it. This sparked outrage among the Kennedy family, since it was built to be a living memorial to the 35th president.

Dammit... I knew it would come to this eventually.

Hobson's choice... and inspired by that, I guess I'll go with Musk - because he would take the horse closest to the door... and bribe someone with it for sex.

Could be worse: might have false positive'd a wolf... then when a REAL wolf comes to the school, nobody pays attention.
"The gaffe occurred because an artificial-intelligence-powered surveillance system used by Lawton Chiles Middle School mistakenly flagged the clarinet as a weapon, according to ZeroEyes, the security company that runs the system and contracts with Lawton Chiles’s school district."
A school locked down after AI flagged a gun. It was a clarinet.
A growing number of schools across the country use AI-powered surveillance to detect guns and contraband, all in the name of making schools safer.

It is international law 101 that a military blockade is not just a violation of the UN Charter, but a crime of aggression.

Unless that blockade is in response to an 'armed attack.'

None of President's Trump's list of complaints come close to an armed attack.

The kind of backroom deals that would see a sitting MP (party leader, even!) lose their home riding re-election bid, seek out the literal safest conservative riding half-way across the country, have that freshly elected MP resign, and force a byelection?
ROSIE: You've now lost two MPs to the Liberal Party... Is this a problem of your leadership?

POILIEVRE: No, it's a problem of Mark Carney's leadership that after Canadians clearly rejected a costly Liberal majority... he is trying to manipulate his way through backroom deals.
