The study separately found that black motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists all sustained higher injury rates than their white counterparts. Black motorists specifically had ≥9 times higher trauma admissions rate than white motorists.

A caveat to all of this is that we are relying on crash reports from MPD. One recent study of DC's trauma center data found that injuries increased significantly between 2019 and 2023 (but does not speak to what occurred in 2024 and 2025). www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Also, I'd wager that users are currently putting up with less than 8 feet of trail under NY Avenue because the gravel under the red line tracks has stolen a couple of feet of trail.
