So pogo on that, y’twat.
I remember when I used to spend Christmases constantly drunk or hungover and I've got to say, I do not miss the feeling of bloat and dehydration one bit. Food digests way more comfortably too.

It's the one day a year I trust myself to rustle up some steaks, cos roasting meats and vegetables for hours is a realm too far, pals.

Something I love about the current generations under 40 is we've understood the importance of boundaries and personal safety, so colour me shocked that a massive transphobe wants families to go back to repressed, obligatory units where we share bucks fizz with those who are toxic or abusive to us.
Yeah, no thanks.

Stop guilting people about being estranged from family members. It someone is they likely have personal reasons for being so.

Social media is pro- far right by design. Platforms are about profit procured by engagement, attention, hyperbole and self promotion, that is everything which good faith debate, friendship and education isn't and shouldn't be. It's why it's failed to stop fascism's acceleration and has helped it.
"Bluesky is an echo chamber."
"Bluesky doesn't have enough reach"
"Liberals must return to X to challenge the far right"

I'm not a tech bro or a journalist. Your priorities are not my priorities. Stop telling me I need to do anything other than chat about comics & telly with people who seem nice.

Paul McCartney's stinks too. Lyrically like something you'd sing and make up as you go along whilst giving the bath a clean.
You can tell he came up with "having a wonderful Christmastime" to the tune, found it needed an extra word and then went "Ahh... SIMPLY!"
That John Lennon Christmas song is proper shit isn't it

Don't really trust schools to teach boys about misogyny given for years it's been part of the curriculum in WW2 "history" that NATO was established to stop the rise of fascism happening again.

Still trying to introduce Eugene to the tradition of having the communal snacks out at all times cos it's Christmas. The nibble on the KP dry roasted score is as follows:

Me - 2
Him - 0

Clarke Kent really could've saved everyone the hassle if he'd just discovered Roy Orbison and gone to therapy.

"So somebody could sell drugs outside my children’s school but, if you’re a landlord, it should be unlawful. That’s nuts. They’re dangerous."

If we got rid of the idea that immigrants to this country need to "prove their worth" to us through grueling minimum wage labour, maybe Polanski wouldn't have made such a crass, classist and racist comment about care work in front of everybody.

I understand Israel being part of Eurovision is terrible, but the fact they're part of the UN given they proclaim to be an "international human rights organisation" (they very much aren't) is incredible.

Got 'Age 72' for music taste on my Spotify wrapped, so I guess I'll just hit up the retirement home.

My favourite thing about the "luxury Motability cars" misconception is how to have a Motability car, not only do they take half of your disability benefit away but you have very little say in which car you get. Audi and BMW have chosen to be part of the scheme, you ignorant fucking freaks.

I remember realising we were wandering into fascism in 2010, it's now 2025 and this week alone I've seen three policy suggestions that are literally Nazi-adjacent.
Fixed it for you. Idiots! If the exclusion is based on appearance then it will certainly impact cis folks as well as trans folks.

I've travelled the humous seas and let me just say, Ramona's Heavenly Humous is the absolute best humous. 400g tub that lasts us a whole week too? Ramona you have charmed me.

Saw someone observe that it's like we're slowly entering a feudalism/oligarchy period of time again and I can't stop thinking about it.

This. I'm nearly 37 and I can absolutely tell when someone isn't even in their thirties, I'm sorry to say it but I think with emotional maturity and lack of predatory instincts that ability usually grows with you?! And that ability seems dangerously far lesser in cis men on average.
the thing that always baffles me about when ppl start quibbling over age-of-consent or whatever is that as a 41 year old most 25 year old's look like teenagers to me. so even that seems gross.

i don't understand why anyone in middle-age would think 'sure they are 18 so its fine' let alone 15. 🤷‍♀️
15-year-olds aren’t “barely legal.” There is no such thing as “underage women” they’re fucking CHILDREN.

So the Timms review will look at all PIP claimants from next year, meaning as guessed a two tier system for legacy and new claimants won't stay, it was just a temp concession to get the vote through. Who is continuing to fight all this?! Cos I'm sick of it only being mentioned when it's newsworthy.
