"Abolish ICE" and "defund the police" are both reasonable and correct on the merits but were absolutely neutered by centrists smearing them as radical activist overreach.
"ICE is a rogue federal agency operating with impunity-destabilizing families, terrorizing neighborhoods, and eroding the very principles of justice it claims to defend. What happened yesterday ... is not an accident-it is the deliberate outcome of a system sliding deeper into authoritarianism."
Providence City Councilor Justin Roias: “Yesterday, ICE tased & detained a Providence resident with a pregnant U.S. citizen wife & a green card interview that same day.”

THANK YOU the admin is full of gutter nazis they do not give a shittttt about antisemitism
Whenever you write something like this it should be antisemitism in quotes at bare minimum or in some form making clear that they’re aren’t actually cracking down on antisemitism

On campuses nationwide, many students are saying that the Trump administration's efforts to crack down on antisemitism have caused a chilling effect on speech and political activity. By @elenamoore.bsky.social

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

This is an insane response to get from a law school’s disability services office, right? Six business days is aspirational???

CUNY budget cuts are truly out of control.

Took this while standing on an erupting volcano! Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is one of the most incredible places I’ve ever visited.

I think I’m watching Severance wrong?? My friends have gone full tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist while I serenely enjoy a visually stunning allegory about union busting & assume that trying to figure out exactly what’s going on at Lumon is beside the point. Ben Stiller’s plans are ineffable.

the “administrative state” in practice is a lot of very hard working, practically anonymous people doing the thankless work of making this country run and a drug-addled dipshit is slandering them in order to steal our money for himself
not trying to pick on this guy. this just reminded me that the federal government does not provide coffee to workers. to drink coffee at a federal office you generally have to pay into a "coffee club" that is managed by a staffer who volunteers to collect money and purchase a monthly coffee supply.

Not exaggerating when I say I would like a personal, handwritten apology from every pundit who barfed out a dozen "the left wants to change the way you talk!" op-eds based on non-mandatory guidelines in obscure PDFs.
2. A memo distributed by NSA leadership to its staff says that on February 10, all NSA websites and internal network pages that contain banned words will be deleted.

This is the list of 27 banned words distributed to NSA staff:

There appear to be at least three separately operating heel factions breaking things within the government in wholly different ways right now. There's the Miller-headed immigration one, the DOGE/Elon one, and a Project 2025 OMB one. This dynamic hasn't showed up in mainstream reporting at all.

dad invited 2 of his friends to thanksgiving, which is how i found out he’s been telling people I’m “top of my class” in law school. CUNY doesn’t have class rankings so I’d love to know where he’s getting his info…
