I think I've found a way to articulate what bothers me about the trajectory of the modern tech industry (and to some extent... society).

We are on this Earth to provide for each other. That's the "mission" of humanity as I see it.

This is incompatible with what the tech industry seeks to do.

She said, “May I ask you to have mercy Mr. President on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away." If Mike Johnson thinks that’s “radical,” perhaps he has a fundamental misunderstanding of his own religion.

What makes this so striking is that we almost never see it. She confronted Trump directly - made him sit there and listen.

Cynicism is not “savvy.” The idea that nothing matters anymore and all is lost is self-defeating. And it’s the easy way out. This is harder: Figuring out ways to push back.

This matters. Not because I think Trump is capable of mercy or empathy towards these vulnerable groups. But because it is a public act of defiance.

Contrast that with all these other powerful people in this country signaling nothing but appeasement and obedience.
Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

So inspiring and wonderful - a lesson in how environmental restoration projects should be conducted in a way that ensures long-term success, and thoughtful reflections on what 'community involvement' should really mean.
And also, it looks absolutely stunning.

Just been told these about 2025:

1️⃣ 2025 is a square, 45 x 45 = 2025

2️⃣ It is also a product of two squares, 9² x 5² = 2025

3️⃣ It is also the sum of three squares, 40²+ 20²+5²= 2025

4️⃣ It is the sum of the cubes, of all the single digits, from 1 to 9, 1³ + 2³ + 3³ + 4³ + 5³ + 6³ + 7³ + 8³ + 9³= 2025

What I want to know is how this country got away with hogging so much natural beauty. It's almost unfair.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!
