Its been forever since I posted any art, but after catching up on it got really inspired by @nickdragotta.bsky.social 's work on absolute batman!!! So i made Absolute Batwoman and tried to study his style. If he ever sees this i just hope it inspires him back!

A rules vote in the Senate can create a filibuster exemption for the budget that all 53 Republican senators support. That rules vote only needs 51 votes.
No Democratic votes are needed.
At this point the shutdown is entirely in Republican hands.

There is a whole cottage industry of 30-40 something men getting angry over (usually progressive) changes made to the cartoons they watched as kids, calling for a return to an idealised time…
Maybe at some point we ought to examine how uncritical consumption of corporate IPs tuned to mass-market appeals and childhood nostalgia forms the core of a reactionary politics, because people would rather be cozy and cute and inoffensive than disturb the 'peace' of an unjust status quo.
apparently people on tumblr are doing a "hogwarts legacy pride week" (where they're sharing LGBTQ-themed hogwarts legacy content) how about you not do that let's stop trying to pretend like it is possible to make pro-LGBTQ content out of that franchise

Not to be unkind, but I am so impatient about the “what’s the point of making my little zines/comics/crafts/art when the world is on fire” sentiments. I get it, but saving the world is not a responsibility shouldered by your art! That’s what being a neighbor, a friend, and hell, a citizen is for!!!
