We got a message from the university to remove any use of the "DEI", "diversity", "equity", or "inclusion" from all public-facing documents. They said that even "biodiversity" is being flagged by the federal government. We live in the dumbest timeline.

So DOGE is discovering fraud …
🚨NEWS: Elon Musk’s sudden renewed push to kill the CFPB came 10 days after his social media company cut a deal with Visa to go into a scandal-plagued payment business the agency has been trying to regulate to make sure Americans’ money isn’t stolen. https://buff.ly/4hSGFMq
Musk Targets His Companies’ Regulators
The billionaire’s push to kill the CFPB followed his social media company’s deal that might have been scrutinized by the agency.

2. They are very different technologies to previous generations of nuclear plants. Far from creating nuclear waste, some designs have the potential to use existing waste as fuel, generating electricity while solving a knotty problem. There are none of the safety issues involved in earlier nukes.

I was trying to explain this earlier today, and this is a much better explanation. Also why I was just sighing, seeing comments about “what’s the underlying db? That’s what’s really important, just restore from most recent backup”.

Expanding out the logic of a single string can be pages and pages.
BFS = Bureau of Fiscal Services

So what *is* business logic systems mapping? 1/
EMERGENCY PIECE: Previous reports that Musk's DOGE programmers only have "read only" access is inaccurate. I can confirm what @wired.com first reported at 1 AM today that they have Read & WRITE access with a source in BFS referring to this as "apocalyptic"

Everybody is freaking out about tariffs, and rightly so. But bear in mind on January 20, we will be nearly three weeks into a debt ceiling crisis and potential US default. Tariffs will be the least terrifying thing happening.

"The scientific community must fight scientific mis- and disinformation as though lives depended on truth and trust, because they do." I couldn't agree more. The idea that this can be done now in the US without being seen as "political" is, however, absurd.

Science is neither red nor blue
Long before the 5 November US presidential election, I had become ever more concerned that science has fallen victim to the same political divisiveness tearing at the seams of American society. This i...

Not that anyone cares, but Trump is looking to buy a crypto exchange.

Why? B/c he can shield it from any/all SEC oversight, which is a valuable forking thing.

(And the exchange he's looking to buy is owned by Kelly Loeffler's husband.) www.thebulwark.com/p/trumps-cry...

And the reason everyone in the admin is pro crypto is they plan to use it and the “SBR” as a bridge between now and post crash to preserve their wealth while everyone else gets screwed.
Everybody is waiting for Trump to turn on Musk. The better frame is what happens when Musk turns on Trump; also, the best chance to stop this is to awaken R’s to the fact that they will soon be broke unless Musk is stopped.

This is really bad. Turns out this is Brock Pierce and friends. Pierce is tight with Bannon, Eric Adams, Brittany Kaiser. Russia capture, ultimately. Ride it while you can I guess but expect disaster down the road.
Bluesky’s most recent funding round came from Blockchain Capital LLC. Given that crypto interests spent at least $200mm (more than Big Oil) in this last cycle, this should be of some concern. Crypto interests are trying to capture governments globally. If Bluesky is part of that, it’s a problem.
