Israel is bombing Gaza again. Here's what doctors are seeing on the ground.
"I think ceasefire is a very loose term,” said one physician in Gaza. “I wouldn’t say we entered Gaza at a time of peace and quiet.”

If these folks really wanted to improve US nutrition, they could do universal food stamps for fruit and vegetables TOMORROW.

But this is about propagandic scapegoat creation, not health.

I *am* an expert on protest and my suggestion is, find people in your area who have experience doing this if you can, and join them.

If you can't find them, talk to your friends and start an Indivisible.

Indivisible.org is a good starting point, either way.

As Jesus famously said, Love thy neighbor a bit less than thyself
I mean yes, there is such a concept in Christianity. It appears quite notably in the letters of Paul, for instance, where it’s a concept he *relentlessly* argues against, and in the Gospel where it’s a concept Jesus very much repeatedly scorns. So it is technically in there!

One of my party facts is that according to polls, Americans believe foreign aid is about 25% of the federal budget and on average that it *should* be about 10%.

The actual number is less than 1%.

Foreign aid has long been a boogey man of the right, so it's not surprising they're vilifying it now.

If your resistance doesn’t include
-mutual child care
- food support
- mutual aid and shelter

The people cant afford it.

The black panthers knew that. That’s why they had the breakfast program and free clinics that still stand TODAY.

It has to start with the needs of the people.

Intro post! Hi, this is the bsky acc of food4phoenix. We do mutual aid all over the Phoenix Valley, usually in the form of stocking community fridges. We also share all the info and thought we can about how we can make a better world for each other. We are not alone ❤️‍🩹

Awesome thread 💕 this really gets at the heart of my goals when I'm thinking about mutual aid. It's the world I want to create.
WHAT IS MUTUAL AID?

A nice thread from Gwen.
I think a lot of people have mutual aid confused with charity on here, maybe because folks most often see it in the context of fundraiser asks (which are great!).

I want to talk a little about what it looks like in everyday life.

Because we need it more than ever. Government is getting shredded.
