So, “Order of the Sinking Star” by Thekla was just announced, which takes several small free games (two of which are mine) and gives them a major graphical upgrade and mashes up their rulesets. I haven’t been very involved but it’s a great concept and looks cool.

It is a shame, but you don't owe anything to this industry, just like you don't owe anything to your employer. You need to be able to switch industries as a matter of survival. When someone joins the game industry we congratulate them, but it means they left behind another industry, and that's ok.
The amount of people I know who have been laid off from games industry jobs and are deciding to leave games entirely as a result is not only extremely saddening (of course), but also genuinely scary. We have lost legitimately thousands of years of knowledge and experience in the last four years.

This was a really fun project for our team! The Switch 2 unlocked a lot of optimizations opportunities in the rendering backend (which we naturally took advantage of). We are looking forward to seeing how far people can push Godot games on the Switch 2!!

This will be the premier aesthetic of the 2030s. All executives outsourcing their ideas to AI. High def with no discernable purpose. Rebrands and reboots every year, and nothing will stick. Culture will become purely an academic concept, first in data science, then in archaeology.
