obviously i understand gradual progression, unlocks, skill development, giving the game a better rhythm and guiding the player through the story but if you tell me i can't have a new sword or whatever until i do some unrelated busywork im just not going to do it
i'm tired of games where i have to wait for shit to happen. i'm not waiting for my wheat to grow and then waiting for the mill to grind it and then waiting for it to bake so i can complete a quest and then immediately get another identical quest
i gottta keep it real with you "cozy game" designers i don't think i have any farming or fishing left in me
