Part of the gap GIG fills is there's close to no comprehensive journalism (opinion or straight reporting) on our elections. I've often been frustrated in the past with WBEZ politics reporting not saying anything about some race, or some candidates in races with no explanation why it's not newsworthy

yeah that seems to be their argument. tbf i have come across a few accounts like that in the wild, but i'm not convinced it's a problem. and at the end of the day, responding to foia requests is a "fundamental obligation" of state agencies.
