¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I know you only care about finished art but placeholder art also needs to be made by a human being who also needs to be paid for that
But placeholder midjourney slop cuts that artist out

We *CANNOT* mess this up.

But whatever deal we officially sign replaces ALL of that, whether it has what we want or not.
Why would we accept less???
Over 205 different NEW videogame projects have already begun under the (proposed) new contract that SAG-AFTRA has painstakingly pushed for over the last year!
The videogame industry is not being blockaded. We’re pushing back against AI clauses that *some* companies still refuse to remove.
But whatever deal we officially sign replaces ALL of that, whether it has what we want or not.

That very desperation is being used against us to 1) sow discord and disagreement, & 2) demand that we sign a subpar deal so that work can resume, “or else”.
The pressure is the point.
I'm hearing some conflicting points, though, about the actual quality of the deal? That it may not, in fact, be good enough?

The right to use generated AI voices - including yours - to scab for you during a future strike.
Yes, YOU the PERSON retain the right to go on strike. But your Digital Replica is allowed to keep working (or replace you). Unless you wanna *pay the company* to rescind that. :)

There's a LOT wrong with "the chart", but this bit in particular I truly love because it makes the dishonesty of the author shockingly, inarguably clear.
Don't believe the hype.

Suck it up. Those of us at the bottom who have a hell of a lot more to lose are running Uber Eats etc to make it through this.
The strike will end when we get our deal.

It suggests that ICDRs require consent regardless of the massive loopholes surrounding their creation, missing the myriad of ways AI voices can be made without them needing your consent or to pay you.

"But they already have A.I. protections!"
No, Hoyo doesn't. The recording studios they CURRENTLY contract do, which is *not secure enough.*

- This did not come from the union.
- It is DEEPLY misleading.
- The fact that it’s circulating now is extremely suspect.

Current/future working actors deserve the most foolproof & future-proof protections we can possibly negotiate. Full stop.
Except it isn’t a full stop. Legislators are trying right now to take away state AI & labor protections. We cannot assume we’ll always be able to count on these.
