yuuuuup. i’m not thankful for where the USA is headed, but i am thankful that it’s forced me to REALLY sort out my priorities and how i want to spend my time and energy (aka not worrying about algorithms)

i just like acting into a microphone and engaging when i wanna! i don’t like the expectation that all creatives have to be content creators and influencers now or be left in the dust. i don’t get paid to post! (i don’t get paid to audition either, but i happily signed up for that one!)

literally thinking to myself “if i post at 9am, 12pm, and/or 7pm PT i will get the most eyes on my post”? feeling like im doing something wrong by not wanting to constantly engage with fandom or social media in general? maybe my career is suffering from my retreat, but im muuuch happier shitposting

(ok & then i will get back to work) my ego and i DO miss the engagement, reach, & networking opportunities of Twitter, but fascism aside, i DON’T miss the pressure to…perform? post constantly? post engagement bait? treat social media like a second job? the feeling that I’m being scrutinized?

BASED PHIL VISCHER!! My first acting job as a kid was in the Jonah movie’s DVD special features, and the VeggieTales team used to order pizza delivery from my dad’s restaurant. I also just loved VeggieTales growing up. So this is really, really nice to see ♥️
