@markmoxon.bsky.social i was involved in a discussion over of a spectrum Facbook group about Elite. A few people said the mining lasers were more powerful than the military one, i said it must be a bug on the speccy then someone said it was also the case on the BBC B. Can you help?

Why have i just seen a job for a windows 10 rollout engineer, security cleared as well. Good to see that some part of our defense infrastructure is finally getting windows 10 2 months before it goes end of life. Crazy...

How odd, I just purchased a new old stock 11th gen desktop PC. On the back it has ps/2 ports for the keyboard and mouse and a parallel port for a printer? I know the computer isnt current gen but I thought those interfaces were long consigned to the past. It replaced a 6th gen i7, windows 11 sigh.

So i am currently looking for work and some of the jobs i see advertised are shocking. Currently getting spammed for one where you are based in Birmingham, have to travel to London once a month and provide out of hours on call. They want someone experienced for the princely sum of £26k lol

Last day at work, I should have already wiped this laptop but I need to get on a teams call one last time. The thing I will miss the most is my tabs in my browser... So long sweet tabs..

This is ROOM ESCAPE MAKER, an #indiedev #solodev project. It's a platform to play and build #escaperooms online as #pointandclick games.
In edition mode, you add graphics and interactions to create #puzzles, making it harder for players to escape.
I hope you enjoy it 🚪🔒🤔💭💡🔑

FASTER for #Amiga OCS/ECS: Following much head scratching, the speedo in the bottom right has been switched from BoBs to hardware sprites, giving a nice performance boost and other cool benefits that I'll come to later.

I did say this would be no lazy STE->Amiga conversion. 😄

I figure that the CPU requirement is so they don't need the software patch for the exploit on the older CPU's... I guess I will be putting together another machine soon.

These games certainly stood out with their large sprites. I enjoyed them BITD.
Sad news: programmer Don Priestley, best known for his cartoon-style games like Trap Door and Popeye, passed away late last year after a short illness. One of Don’s friends shared the news on a Facebook comment. RIP Don (1940-2024), your games shine on.

I only noticed today, but the car in the Outrun track select screen must be really wide for this image to work...

Amazon app store going from windows 11, but the android subsystem was depreciated anyway. Amazon coins going not that i knew what they were and finally Amazon kids no longer being available on Android and IOS. Moving it all to Amazon only devices seems like a misstep to me.

Amazing, I always assumed this was pre-rendered and just on tape but it looks like it was generated in real time.

Cornershop - Brimfull of asha, anyone noticed the very rare arcade machine in the video. Just noticed it now, and from the age of the song it wouldnt make sense for it to be a repro.

I'm really proud to present my fully documented source code for #Elite on the #Apple II.

This is the original 1986 source, recently released by Ian Bell, with every single line of code explained.

It’s fascinating code. Enjoy!

I built a fluorescent green breadbin, which I am selling to raise funds for the Retro Computer Museum, Leicester.

100% of the proceeds will go towards their clean-up effort. I would be grateful for any shares, even if they're just to say "Eew." 😀
