Bluesky is in that golden period where its failures and poor choices in moderation and trust/safety have yet to be exposed by a horde of a million trolls, terfs, and nazis.

The user base is small enough to enforce communal mores, but this fails disastrously at scale.

Bluesky appears sex worker friendly, trans friendly.

This is mostly an illusion caused by its small userbase. This illusion pops the moment its systems encounter a horde of dipshits. The trolls have simply not arrived in force yet.

This was, in fact, predicted.

Jay might as well walk around carrying a sink.

THIS. The number of times that my friend has had to make new accounts just so that his followers can see his garden photos. It is outrageous

Honest, good faith answer: the post below and others like it felt like toxic trolling to me.

They impacted my day-to-day experience by making me suspect that this site would become more unsafe for me and many others and made me spend a lot of time researching other PDSes.

It has affected my experience because members of my community, including those who built and maintained composable moderation that helped me, have left this platform citing a lack of safety and trust. Meanwhile, well loved community members are suspended and banned capriciously. It's concerning.

If someone is joining Bluesky for the first time and wanted to going Blacksky from jump without ever making a Bluesky account what should they do? They would need to sign up on the desktop and then use the Bluesky app for the phone, correct?

Ahhh, team.

Be it known then, that whenever I come upon another post from Jay, it is imbued with much toxicity. This site would be so much better if bigots didn't run it.

Not going back to check today’s inevitable weather nerd drama after the EF5 upgrade of the #Enderlin tornado… just want to congratulate my fellow Canadians at the @westernuntp.bsky.social who assisted in the investigation. Great to have met Dr @connellmiller.ca & chatted w/ Dr @davesills.ca!

Not enough grass was shredded in the El Reno one, I suppose.

It chased Tim. It caught Tim. It stayed right there throwing Tim around and around.

The El Reno tornado was evil.
