When they start touting tulip bulbs as a food source, you know things went south. At least cabbage tastes good.
Chat, is it a good sign when the Atlantic's Thanksgiving take is "cabbage is affordable"?
Cabbage is affordable, delicious, and astoundingly versatile, @giladedelman.bsky.social writes. The underrated crucifer “is fit for a king”:

I think now would be a great time to make sure people across the country understand their unaffordable new health insurance premiums are 100% attributable to the President, and the Republicans in the House and Senate

I grew up in York County and have now seen a couple of childhood friends post on FB about their insurance premiums going up by $2,000/month and they don't know why

I wish the Democrats would launch an ad campaign pegged to enrollment deadlines explaining why rates are about to skyrocket

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

Mark my words, someday the people who have been dumped in these places, under horrible conditions, are going to seek revenge -- and who could blame them? We've been the world's bully for far too long and now we're turning on our own residents.

Disgusting.
Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

In case you’re ever wondering if there’s a point to calling/emailing your concerns:

“Councilwoman Odette Ramos, the task force chair, said … that she and the mayor’s office had received about 1,000 emails about the proposed move to the Jones Falls Valley.
Of those, two favored the plan.”

Are they getting the message?
A Democrat who was elected sheriff in Pennsylvania this month hopes others are watching: “It sends a message to elected public safety officials across the country that partnering with ICE is a loser in a district that’s remotely a swing district.”
Voters Ousted This Pennsylvania Sheriff After He Signed Up to Collaborate With ICE
A populous swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.
