In case you’re ever wondering if there’s a point to calling/emailing your concerns:

“Councilwoman Odette Ramos, the task force chair, said … that she and the mayor’s office had received about 1,000 emails about the proposed move to the Jones Falls Valley.
Of those, two favored the plan.”

Big demand for whistles in New Orleans and 3D printing is the fastest/cheapest way to produce them right now. If you can help with printing, DM me. There are volunteers already handling pickups, dropoffs, regular printed materials and bundling. We could just use more people printing.

My friend deserves the physical letters & pictures I send, and deserves them forever. Digital copies are removed from access after a set period of time. That is just cruel.

Can you imagine being sent a relative's funeral program or child's graduation pictures, just for them to dissappear?
NEW — Illinois residents can submit comments to state leaders by Nov. 24 to oppose mail scanning, which allows prison officials to scan physical mail and reproduce it into digital copies.

Criminal justice advocates say the practice doesn’t make prisons safer.

So there's a side conversation about slow fashion and sustainable wages, and I have a lot of thoughts because I went through a period where I was trying to figure out how to get things that would last that were ethically made and also fit me.

This is how you create an economy out of carcerality. So that even if the day comes where people admit this is MORALLY wrong, they system cannot be stopped or even disrupted because people depend upon it financially now.

More than half of who ICE targets aren’t undocumented. They’re in various stages of legal residency.

More than a third of who they target are US citizens who were born here.

This isn’t about hiring undocumented labor.
