Can’t believe the whole country has to suffer through the return of Dickensian childhood diseases because the worst, most ignorant attention-demanders decided other people’s expertise makes them feel bad

KIM KITSURAGI - "What is it, detective? Can you make it out?"

BULLET - "if you read this you are gay lmao"

1. "It, um, doesn't say anything."

2. "Transgender ideology. My old foe."

3. [Espirit de Corps - Medium 10] "I think you should read it for yourself, Kim."

Hey @pizzaexpressuk.bsky.social your staff at North Bridge Edinburgh have been BY FAR the most awesome at dealing with an onion allergy. We’d given up on chain restaurants but what you’ve done with training and your allergy pack is fantastic.

Very happy to be eating with you.

"When Mexico sends its people, they're sending their best. They're sending firefighters to help solve American problems. They're bringing fire fighting uniforms. They're bringing fire fighting equipment. They're bringing kittens down from trees. And all, I assume, are good people."

@catbohannon.bsky.social my excellent daughter hit the spot this Christmas! She remembered how much we both enjoyed your spot on the New Scientist pod - thanks, have a great holiday and wow I’m looking forward to this 😁🎄

First signs of reality setting in here. I received a DM from an account impersonating @maryltrump.bsky.social (extra p on the name). Asked for personal info. Blocked and reported.

Loads of friend requests from dodgy looking accounts today.

Reading Fatherland for the first time this century - getting back reading more real books

You can practically taste the drear & melancholy inhabiting the completely believable world, it's astounding

My 1993 paperback feels ancient, out of time, like the 1950s copy of The City Boy I read growing up

Well done, pig. Well done.
sure you could read the 'Bluesky doesn't do irreverence' think-piece

or you could explore our rigorously scientific series of posts making a 19th-century hog get progressively bigger
things are only looking üp

and by things, we mean everyone, because the inevitable has happened and the hog now has height as well as width

Strong Twitter-2010 vibes from my feeds today, which is pretty great
I open my Bluesky feed and it is full of really cool people saying really smart things and being really passionate about really interesting stuff.

I like this version of social media, and the world.

Thanks, folks.

Appreciate this may not be a universally popular opinion but the less you treat BlueSky as a crusade or cause, and the more you position it as simply a superior user experience with a better governance approach, the more sustainable the growth will be.

we may just have to face the fact that there may be no bottom to the depths of Elon Musk's stupidity

any horrendously stupid thing that could be said or believed he probably will start to believe

Leaving Twitter feels huge. I found so many excellent people just because other fine folks knew them. What larks, Pip!

Some are years gone now; leaving has me treasure who they were. Quitting Facebook was much simpler...

The world has turned; tomorrow is an adventure again.

I pressed the button.
