I just shouted at my trumpy co-worker for the first time. In 8 years, I have been respectful of her opinion. Genuinely curious. Let's find common ground. "Oh, yeah, I can see how you feel that way." But the Jan 6 pardons ended a decade of civility for me.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.
