Ok I increased the buffer to 512mb on the Focusrite control panel, it also looks like it was set for a different sample rate than the software (44.1 vs 48), I set them the same and recorded for 25 minutes and I don't THINK I heard any pops but we'll see the next time I do a YT recording. Thanks!!

The pops come every few minutes (but not a specific regular interval) and seem to get worse the longer I record. One workaround would be to record the audio track separately and sync them in the edit but that's adding layers of difficulty to my meager editing skills. Any ideas?

When using that same mic setup just to record audio for a podcast (into Audacity or any other software) I do NOT get those pops, it's only when using that mic as the audio input for that camera. All USB devices are plugged directly into the laptop, no hubs. 3/

The camera is just a webcam, a Logitech Brio 4K. The mic is a Shure MV7 connected via XLR to a cloudlifter preamp, then to a Focusrite scarlett USB interface, then to a laptop via USB-C. Recording with OBS Studio. 2/

HELP! I get little pops in my audio when recording video & can't figure out what's causing it (you'll hear it right at the beginning of this clip, as I say the word "and"). This DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN I AM JUST RECORDING AUDIO, only video, but I am NOT using the camera mic. 1/

I don't get why people twist themselves into pretzels to definitively say if someone is "good now" or "bad now" before discussing what they did now, like Gavin Newsom. Just say "what he just did is good" or "what he just did is bad," you don't have to enter a score for him, it's not a required field

Obviously not the main point here, but it's interesting how this is framed as content rather than policy.

"BREAKING" is typically what journalists or influencers say when they have a big story -- not what government officials say when they launch "undercover" operations
