Given the option to elect a party that promised our current hellscape or one that promised something very different, we collectively gave the hellscape party a trifecta. It doesn't mean we should fold now, but that's what we chose and it's our fault.

The most charitable read on this would require the GOP to fundamentally give a fuck about FY26 approps, and other than very serious defense hawks (and barely them, all 3 of them left) we proved conclusively two months ago they do not

By choice, they fail to acknowledge that a truly unified minority party that requires the GOP to do everything it’s doing entirely without any help would in itself a) might increase their electoral prospects, and b) would increase the pressure on already-pressured Republicans to break.
