the studios let the strike go for months and lost more money than what the WGA is asking (and then spent even more on PR firms fighting the strike)

The difference is that you want to help people and a lot of the people who get this amount of money only want to help themselves.
I'm always making plans for the incredibly unbelievably unlikely chance I'd ever have a crack at multimillions. Do you know how much infrastructure we could put in place?? Do you know how many books we could stock libraries with? We could set up a fund to help kids aging out of foster care?? Like
