The book Angel co-edited just won a well-deserved award at ASA. Such a huge loss for the field and everyone who knew him and had a chance to get to know his generous spirit.
So deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Angel David Nieves, far too suddenly and far too soon. Angel brought his whole self to the DH community, and for that reason made the field—and all of us—better for it.

Speaking of the humanities… I went back to my college this past weekend and wound up in front of the building that houses the classics department. I took enough Greek and Latin courses to qualify for a major…and what I learned has been put to use every week of my working life – even at MTV News.

I think I just broke "draft with AI" status update in Asana. sigh. it's still just spinning. I was much happier with AI formula writing in Smartsheet yesterday. In Asana my AI-drafted status updates keep repeating whatever I wrote in the previous one instead of all the work done since then.

My Spring 23 fits the bill—in a weird way. I didn't do that much coding, but could've by cutting corners. The goal was to do a survey of the payoffs, to entice students who may want to learn more of the techne later, or be more informed about their critiques. teaching.elotroalex.com/s23-intro-dh...
