September 2020, a mother wrote an email to her state representative asking for action, after a woman was hit by a driver near her home.
Five years later in September 2025, her 16 year old son is killed by a driver at the same intersection.

Police in Airdrie, Alberta (just north of Calgary) say this driver hit a 17-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk, got out of the vehicle, and appeared to get upset at the teenager before driving away.

They released this video and are now trying to identify the driver.

There was a story from Guelph a few weeks ago about a mom being killed by a driver and her last act was pushing her child in their stroller out of the way hopefully saving their life. Absolutely heartbreaking and a sign of how parents are always aware of road danger.
