Alderman Sigcho-Lopez was right to call out Pritzker today about the state police arresting protesters. Pritzker responded that the state police are protecting protesters, and that just isn't true. State cops have arrested and brutalized protesters to facilitate ICE operations. That's reality.

MoveOn, Indivisible, Our Revolution, and 6 Democrats have called on Chuck Schumer to step aside as leader.

So we asked all 40 Democratic senators who didn’t cave to Republicans if they still think Schumer is the right leader.

Here's what they said.

Furious Liberals Call for Schumer to Step Aside, Senate Dems Mostly Quiet
After their shutdown surrender, liberal lawmakers are begging their base to unite behind them anyway – as Trumpland celebrates that their opposition is a bunch of 'p*ssies.'

50 year mortgage is insane. You'd pay so much more over the lifetime of the loan and likely never pay it off before you died. 400k loan over 50 years is 1.4 million. Yikes forever.
Here’s how a 50-year mortgage would work

@whitehouse.senate.gov what did you all not withhold unanimous consent? Why do you call accountability for an astoundingly damaging and foolish move "recriminations"? Why are you protecting Schumer? Y'all protect your own more than democracy.

I told you that a bunch of these Democrats secretly wanted this bill, but they didn't have to vote yes bc 8 of them fell on the sword. The rhetoric coming from Dems right now is despicable. It's insulting.

Remove Schumer. Work to fix this. You all have destroyed trust and so many lives.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

We’re not going to “fix the Democrats’ brand” by doing TikToks or launching pods. The brand is a direct reflection of our elected officials. If we want to purge our weak branding, we have to purge the weak Dems. I’m looking forward to a robust primary cycle and new Democrats who know how to fight.

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

The Senate Democrats!

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Chuck "Vote Blue, No Matter Who" Schumer 100% voted for Cuomo. He never endorsed Mamdani and he continues to stop true progress for the American people. This old fool needs to be voted out come 2028. Fuck these backward fake power gripping cowards.

Chuck Schumer and his "fictional" Bailey's need to go. The ginormous L he took for not backing Zohran Mamdani is yet another example of his failed leadership. If AOC doesn't run for president, then she should seek his seat in 2028.
