That's the whole point of the article - in the UK, we have an independent appointments commission that appoints Judges, Jenrick is seeking to abolish that and replace it with Ministerial appointed judges...

I wrote this for @bylinetimes.bsky.social - in summary, Jenrick's proposals to undermine the independence of the judiciary demonstrate that he is either a would-be authoritarian despot, or someone who is absolutely clueless about the machinary of the British constitution and the Justice System.

I hate to say it, but the crowds of entitled arrogant American Golf fans were chanting 'Oo-ess-Ay' in the same visceral and aggressive way and with the same intention to scare and intimidate that the people of 1930s Germany would chant 'Sieg Heil.' It was horrible.

Nathan Gill, 52, was elected as an MEP for Ukip in 2014 when Nigel Farage was leader. He went on to become leader of the Reform party in Wales.

Gill admitted to eight charges of accepting cash bribes for the “improper performance by him of his function or activity as the holder” of a position in the European parliament between December 2018 and June 2019.
