Excited about a new preprint from PhD candidate Megan Heft, showing that nestling provisioning rates in male tree swallows are not limited by the male's risk of overheating (in contrast with previous studies of females) 🧪 #ornithology #science

regrettably if you try to point this out online you'll get yelled out by 79208 journalists going OH SO YOU WANT JOURNALISTS TO STARVE??? even if you're, say, a journalist yourself, and point out that while there are clearly no easy answers, the status quo isn't exactly working for society

Seeing ice cream cones during their spawning runs really takes your breath away. They’ll only do this once in their entire lives.

If you don't mind, I would like to provide a link to your blog for my students this term. There are some nice examples of how to cite these AI models via Laurier's embedded links

I think breweries (& bars) with large car parking lots are such a scary symptom of forced car dependency.

In cities, esp, residents should have the option (& ideally be incentivized) to take a mode of travel that doesn’t involve driving a car home after drinking.

I suspect 25 years ago, many of these "authorships" would have been "acknowledgements"
