Over 450 British armed forces personnel died during the entire 20-year involvement in the conflict in Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks and the invocation of NATO's Article 5....

Horrifying to see an American woman shot dead by an ICE agent on a Minneapolis street, and Donald Trump’s ghoulish response is truly chilling.

Britain mustn’t follow America down this dark path.

She reversed, she turned her wheel, the officer was to the side of the bonnet when she moved forward, as her wheel was turned, her vehicle was turning away from him. This is evident from the entry point of the bullet. #Minneapolis should ask #ICE to leave immediately after the #MinneapolisShooting

Keir Starmer must come to Parliament today and make it clear that Britain stands with Denmark against Trump’s threats.

I have just seen on the news that hotel staff are advised to contact their local police if a male/males check in with a child where a woman may not be present...

What in the homophobia is this?!?!

This will not address grooming gangs but will target single fathers, uncles and gay parents.

We remain a member of the Council of Europe, as we founded the council in 1949. The flag represents the council, not the EU.

First Venezuela, next Greenland?

You don't suck up to bullies like Trump, he will just see it as a sign of weakness.

Keir Starmer needs to get on the phone to our European allies including the Danish PM, and show a united front against Trump's threats.

I think you're on your own there. If a Country of 300+ million people can't remove one 79 year old fat dude from the White House, there's a lot more wrong with your Country than the 79 year old fat dude!

Trump just handed Russia and China all kinds of pretext and precedent to take illegal, unilateral action. We are headed into very dangerous times.

Putin shows he can invade Ukraine with minimal reprisals.
Trump shows he can take over Venezuela with minimal reprisals.
It’s like they’re giving the nod to Xi Jinping to have a go?

Even if Trump’s attack on Venezuela and kidnapping of Maduro somehow led to a positive impact on Venezuela’s future, it would not make these actions by the United States legal, moral or wise.

Normalising and legitimising this behaviour endangers all countries - democracies and dictatorships alike.

Rubio is claiming that they did not need Congress permission because it was a law enforcement mission. The US is behaving as a global police state, extending its own arbitrary legal decisions to the whole world.

This is not a problem just for Venezuela.

Trump has just announced he is going to RUN another country (with or without boots on the ground) to ensure oil flows for US companies.

Yes, there’s still people - including in Latin America - pretending this is about Maduro winning elections or not.
How is a Trump occupation any more legitimate?

For the #USA to run #Venezuela prior to a transition, they will have to engage in a full scale military operation... Where is #Congress ?
January 3, 2026 at 4:55 PM
If #Venezuela strikes back against the #USA will #NATO be called to support the USA, or has President Trump voided this by attacking first?

Keir Starmer should condemn Trump’s illegal action in Venezuela.

Maduro is a brutal and illegitimate dictator, but unlawful attacks like this make us all less safe.

Trump is giving a green light to the likes of Putin and Xi to attack other countries with impunity.

Hello everyone some of you may have heard the news.

Yes, Venezuela has been bombed.

For the time being, it has been confirmed that only military bases, airports, and government related facilities had been struck.

I'm safe for now, scared but safe. Will keep you guys updated as to how things go.

The capture of #Maduro is a world war level risk... Imagine if Russia captured #Zelensky ?

This has just flipped the lid on what is acceptable for modern "warfare", and all world leaders are now at risk.
